A lot of people I’ve met overseas have commented that Australians always dress really casually, with singlet, short short and sandal ensembles being somewhat of a cultural uniform. Do we really have a choice? Summer high temperatures in Australia are always all over the news. The constant challenge (apart from avoiding bush fires) is finding ways to stay cool. While I’m a proponent for the staying inside at all times strategy, when venturing outside in the summer, I’ve found a light jacket like this kimono to be amazingly versatile.

You might have noticed that the print on this gorgeous kimono looks suspiciously like the one on the dress I wore in my Printed Summer Dress post last week. It’s just because I’m so in love with this print series from Sydney based leather fashion label VIPARO, aptly named ‘Cuban Paradise’. It brings to mind summer, not so much in the cocktails by the pool sense, but in the adventures on a deserted island with an adult Bengal Tiger sense, Life of Pi style. |
