One of an impressive line-up of local designers to show their collection at Canberra’s FESHFEST on 1-4 May this year is enigmatically named label, 4 Minutes 33. Having kicked off their career by winning Debut Designers at Sydney Fashion Exposed in 2009, designers Gemma Jameson and Francesca Altenburg have continued to create infinitely versatile and layerable pieces to allow the wearer to let their creativity and individuality take the lead. It’s not a surprise that this successful duo have their pieces stocked in a number of boutiques in Australia and overseas. Styling just two pieces from 4 Minutes 33’s collection, I discovered this label’s flair for perfect basics. Read on to see how I styled these pieces four ways!

Look #1 Simply a T shirt from 4 Minutes 33. Long enough to wear as a dress, and the slinky soft material falls in all the right ways: oversized but fits so well. It’s so chic just on its own. Simply styled with a geometric necklace (Nastygal) and black ankle boots (Maison Martin Margiela). Look #2 A classic blue and white contrast, the chambray shirt (Target) is my first choice for accompanying this T. The T is cinched by tying the sleeves, a spontaneous belt. Look #3 A juxtaposition of the soft and light T with a volumnous oversized jacket (MaxMara), and the chambray shirt in between adds an extra layer. I want to wear this T with all my jackets. Look #4 Finally, 4 Minutes 33’s monochromatic, subtlety a-lined miniskirt. Their oversized T tucks in and reduces to a perfect top. The volume of the skirt is emphasized by a contrasting weave, which is at once organic and geometric. I pose for this shot with the angry eyebrows of sartorial satisfaction. I can’t wait to see what 4 Minutes 33 will reveal in their collection for FASHFEST. Their show is on Friday 3 May, the third day of FASHFEST. FASHFEST is a 4 night showcase of Canberra fashion that will transform the nation’s capital from May 1 – 4. Will I see you there? Get your tickets here. |
