I must admit that there’s never enough talk about other blogs in this space. For that matter, there’s not enough talk about men’s fashion blogs, though the writer is a big fan of male street fashion.
For those of you who share my interest in male street fashion, you may have heard of what is credited as one of the biggist men’s street style blogs (over 230,000 followers) Men in this town, created by Giuseppe Santamaria, which captures men with a distinct look in their natural habitat, in Australia and overseas. Giuseppe also has a weekly column in The Sun-Herald and The Sunday Age’s Sunday Life Magazine and regularly contributes to the Details Style Network. This jetsetter has also recently returned from covering the Tokyo Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Peroni Nastro Azzurro, official beer sponsor of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia has announced that it will be collaborating with Men in this Town. Along with capturing street style, backstage moments at the menswear shows and special events in partnership with Peroni, Giuseppe will be working on a series of photos called An Italian in Sydney, that will be releasing every morning via www.meninthistown.com and the Peroni Nastro Azzurro Australia Facebook page www.facebook.com/peroniau. This is a collection of ‘cenemagraphs’ that focus on showcasing an Italian’s lifestyle duirng the day. Cinemagraphs are a photographic technique that is published in an animated GIF format and give the illusion that time has stopped still by focusing on one moving element in the photo (cool example below).
From a blogger’s point of view, it’s inspirational to see a fellow Australian fashion blogger collaborating with such a big name; from the point of view of a fashion addict, this is yet anouther amazing medium for whose who can’t make it to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia to experience all the excitement.
