Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream is one of those Korean cosmetics products that’s been around for a long time and has countless fans around the world (and also a few naysayers). Having used this BB Cream on and off for the past year, I thought it was finally time for me to write up a proper review.

Its promises:

The M Perfect Cover BB Cream gives an even and natural-looking coverage with the soothing, moisturising properties of a cream. It is suitable for all skin types including acne-prone skin, and can be used as a makeup base or foundation.

Read on to see if this product lives up to its promises!

As this is a BB cream, lets first talk about the skin health benefits Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream offers. Its claims on the packaging itself are rather confusing:

MISSHA M Perfect Cover B.B Cream offers a novel skincare concept with B.B cream, which lightens skin tone by healing visible wrinkles and blemishes with excellent skin-cover ability, and prevents skin aging through effective whitening and anti-wrinkle properties.

The description seems to equate whitening with anti-aging, even saying that it lightens the skin by reducing wrinkles. The English product descriptions of Korean makeup products are always a little bit funny, so suffice to say that this BB Cream’s key benefits are:

  • Whitening
  • Anti-Wrinkle
  • UV Protection (SPF 42 PA +++)

I’ve been unable to location information about just what ingredients are in this product which it its whitening and anti-wrinkle properties.

MISSHA M Perfect Cover BB Cream comes in a number skin tone choices:

  • #13 Milky Beige
  • #21 Light Beige
  • #23 Natural Beige
  • #27 Honey Beige
  • #31 Golden Beige

I’m using #21 Light Beige, which I consider to be the mid range tone. #23 Natural Beige also works for me.

This is probably the strongest scented BB Cream I’ve ever used. I would describe the scent as citrus infused baby powder.

The formulation is smooth and on the thin side. It blends easily and a little goes a long say. The coverage is buildable when the previous layer is left to set.

#21 is very much on the cool side, so is better suited to fair skin tones rather than tanned. For tanned skin, #31 Golden Beige and $27 Honey Beige would be more suitable. That said, when allowed to oxidise, Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream matched my skin tone very well.

The finish is closer to matte than dewy, with a subtle luminosity. It looks very natural, as if you’re not wearing anything at all.

While I like the look, the feeling on the skin is a little sticky. On the other hand, this BB Cream was very effective in keeping my skin well hydrated all day long and did not cause my skin to get oily or break out. While I feel it’s not the best product around for oily skin (for which I would recommend Skin 79 Orange Super Plus BB Cream), it’s still completely fine to use.

Despite being called ‘Perfect Cover’, the coverage of MISSHA M Perfect Cover BB Cream is medium, with some potential to build. It evens out skin tone, reduces redness and fades miner imperfections. However, for under eye circles and prominent imperfections, concealer is a must. You may also choose to completely mattefy the finish with powder.
