Maybe this makes me a bit of a one trick pony, but when it comes to tops there are a few archetypes that I keep coming back to. I have to admit I have a bit of a fetish for button down shirts. The slouchier the better and they must have breast pockets. The item that’s on the next notch on the sexy scale for me is the Zara crossover blouse. It was effortless to pair with my Staple the Label faux leather mini skirt (purchased a Mussen Canberra’s end of season sale over the weekend), and these amazing bow tie sandals from Jessica Buurman.
The sandals are of course an Isabel Marant SS 2014 lookalike. It’s a souped up version of the one strap Birkenstock, or maybe even the ‘pretty’ version, with the utilitarian contoured sole contrasted with feminine long straps on the ankles. I’m not sure if the bow tie sandal will be as cult as Isabel Marant’s carol standals were from the previous season, but it’s definitely in my best-shoe-in-show list for SS 2014.
