My (somewhat excessive) shoe collection has for the most part been knee high boot and thigh high boot free. It’s only because I have this anxiety that they’re not made to fit my – let’s say – muscular calves and thighs. It’s just a bit depressing when you’re trying on knee high boots and the shop assistant has to help you pull them on. Can you imagine being an unwitting witness to an awkward exchange in the department store, like, ‘you pull, I’ll push! No, I said I’ll push!’ Ok, so that’s really just an imaginary scenario that runs though my mind just before I escape the boots department. I’m sure I’m not the only one!
So far be it from me, a boots department escape, to order knee high boots online. However, I couldn’t help but take a risk on these Over the Knee ‘boots’ (technically, they are boots). They are just so insanely cool. With a handy button close, these fit without a hitch. Good thing too because I don’t think I’ll want to wear anything else for a while. Here’s to taking risks!
Wearing this outfit to the Luke Chiswell Exhibition last week, these knee high boots got so much attention. I got got a lot of compliments, but also a lot of questions. Just in case you guys had any, let me just answer these in advance: Yes, they actually do keep me pretty warm. Yes, they are full leather. Yes, they are comfy. No, I’m not wearing two pairs of shoes.
All this talk of the boots I’d almost forgotten to mention my new favourite knit – the Lilya ‘Atlas’ roll neck jumper. This winter I was looking for just a jumper like this one – chunky, high neck, and a really unique shape. It’s also so fuzzy and warm to boot. I probably got mine just in time as the S has pretty much sold out everywhere.
