My love affair with ripped jeans is rivaled only by my slightly unhealthy obsession with giant knitted jumpers. Try explaining that to your boyfriend when he says: ‘so you like clothes that are falling apart and that don’t fit you?’. While to more sensible people (I know you’re out there), it might seem a bit questionable that I like to dress like a potato sack 24/7, but – and maybe this is just me – potato sack is a silhouette that has its own charms. For one, because of your deceivingly wide girth, it’s great for getting people out of your way when traversing crowded streets.
As for my choice of shoe to pair with a potato sack outfit – or any outfit, really – I’m currently living life in my Palmaira Sandals authentic hand made Menorcan Avarcas. You might have seen shoes that look like Avarcas around recently, but I’ve learned that the authentic Avarca comes only from the island of Menorca, Spain, and are certified as such by the local government. How cool is that! It goes without saying that you can shop the whole range of authentic Avarcas, from gorgeous prints to glitter finishes at the Palmaira Sandals web shop!

Hi Jiawa, I was wondering if you ever felt the need to offset something baggy with something a little more fitting? As in, do you like to proportionate your outfits? I always feel the need to because I’m so short and wearing this outfit would probably shrink me in half!! Haha. Thanks in advance 🙂

haha good question! Yes I definitely do think that balancing the proportions is really important. But I personally love experimenting with unusual or awkward silhouettes. Sometimes it’s a matter of it looks so wrong that it’s right, you know what I mean? However, in doing so I often neglect body shape considerations, and I’m not all that tall myself (167 cm). If not wanting to look short is your main concern, then the pieces I’m wearing would be difficult items to style. The jumper is quite long, and drop crotch pants would tend to shorten anyone’s figure (unless worn with high heels). It would of course be better to stick to clothes that highlight your legs, like short (even cropped) tops, high waisted bottoms, mini lengths, and cropped rather than full length pants. That said I don’t think that you look short in your photos at all, so you’re clearly doing something right! 🙂
oversized knits are so cool!!

If this is what a potato sack looks like, we want in. Loving how your jeans taper at the bottom so everything isn’t totally huge and we’re lusting after that cozy sweater. xx
Love the casual look
