With winter having officially ticked over to spring in the southern hemisphere, I’m sure I’m not the only one to happily farewell freezing walks to the car park, impossible-go-get-out-of-bed mornings and perpetual hair frizz. While I’ll definitely miss my oversized coats and turtle necks, I’ve already been in strategic planning (yes, ok – shopping) for my spring/summer wardrobe. Spring dresses have been on my mind, and I’ve got my money on luxe trans-seasonal basics that will take you straight through spring and summer.
I’m hardcore crushing on Aussie brand August Street’s edgy street luxe separates, and recently I’ve been wearing this draped jersey dress to death. It had me at first glance with it minimal and deceivingly simple cut, and sexy-cool drape action. For me it’s the perfect spring dress, breathable for warmer days to wear on its own, and infinitely layerable with a cool jacket for twilight outings. On this awesomely warm day, it felt divine to have legs and arms out in the sun, with my Jessica Buurman wedge high tops keeping it all a bit weekend casual. Just because it’s spring, doesn’t mean I have to give up my grayscale obsession. Of course, as it’s become a bit of a blog-tradition, I couldn’t resist heading down to Canberra Nara Park to snap my first spring blog post of the year with the way-too-pretty cherry blossoms.
What are you looking forward to wearing this spring?
