It seems like just yesterday that I went for the big chop…admittedly, 6 months is a little bit further in the past than ‘yesterday’, so it sort of makes sense that I was in long hair territory again for a while there. Accordingly, I’ve decided to become the Asian Charlotte Le Bon. It’s all about those short messy just-out-of-bed waves. Now, I know you’ll be dying to know where I had it done, and I’m not going to hold out. There have been only three salons in hair history which have delivered exactly the hair that I wanted (which is a bit of a feat, considering I am notorious for being a vague customer). In Canberra – Hair Flair Dickson; In Melbourne – believe it or not, Supercuts, and now in Perth – House of Ernest. I was told House of Ernest is a swanky place about town, frequented by celebrities, so naturally I was turned off straight away. I’m more of the corner Korean barbershop type of patron. But my friend wouldn’t stop talking about it until I finally agreed to make an appointment, which turned out to be the best decision I’ve made all year. My cut was by Paul and the blow dry was by Daniel, but I’m sure all the staff at House of Ernest are amazing.
