Khaki is the new neutral for spring, so here are my tips on where to get it and how to wear it
Wearing:
Khaki Utility Shirt – Bardot | Khaki wrap skirt & Multi-strap Heels – Kookai | Belt – Country Road | All from Garden City Booragoon
The key to a truly versatile wardrobe is stocking key staples in neutral colours – no wonder the monochrome movement has been so indomitable for 2015. So it might seem almost sacrilegious for yours truly to be endorsing a colour for spring, let alone green. But khaki is not just any green. Its ever so specific desaturated earthy personality makes it the perfect new neutral to change up your wardrobe for the new season.
How to wear it? Trust me on this, khaki will camouflage right into your everyday wardrobe (pun intended). However, for an effortlessly put together look, keep the whole outfit to no more than two or three key colours. Reference khaki’s badass military roots with oversized utility pockets, then inject a feminine touch with a sexy wrap skirt and heels – my picks are these Bardot and Kookai pieces, all currently in stores at Garden City Booragoon. A big ‘yes’ also goes to transeasonal knits, wide leg pants, and drapey knitted maxi skirts, all in khaki, spotted at Witchery, Zara and Country Road.
What are your thoughts on the khaki trend?

I say YES to the khaki trend! In fact, you’ve inspired my to fish out my khaki pants – they’re hanging up somewhere, I swear. I love the idea of wearing head-to-toe khaki too, and you’ve styled this trend so damn well. I love how you always have this effortlessly cool ‘sexy’ element with a low neck or high split (or in this case, both).
